The photo below is of me & my brother Tom. It’s a few years old now, but I’ll always know the face. Tom tragically passed away on the 31st of July 2018 at Gosforth fields, Dronfield, from cardiac arrest caused by a congenital heart disease. Whilst the paramedics, first responders and bystanders did everything in their power to save him, it wasn’t meant to be, and we never got a chance to say goodbye. Tom was a keen blade, and loved playing football with his mates at every opportunity. He was as fit as they come, always in the gym or out on the sesh. We never knew there was anything wrong with him. Nobody could’ve asked for a more perfect lad, and I certainly could not have asked for a better brother.
So on the 7th of November 2018, I began creating the Tom Henson defibrillator map, a free and public Google maps add-on which I hope will educate people on the location of their nearest defibrillator.
My brother couldn’t be saved on the 31st of July, but he would want others to be saved. Please share this map to help others know their local defibrillators, and save lives. Rest easy brother. Love, Joe xx
